IRVINE RANCH WATER DISTRICT HEADQUARTERS
2nd Wednesday of Even Months in 2019
6:30 Social Time - 7:00 Presentation
Guest Speakers / Program: Adventure Cycling in Colorado and Cycling Hawaii
Our last meeting for 2019 will feature a slide show of club secretary and former Bikecentennial ’76 TransAm tour leader Bob McHenry’s recent tour in Colorado. In August, Bob rode solo and self-supported from Durango to Rocky Mountain National Park. Utilizing portions of Adventure Cycling’s Great Parks South and Great Divide Mountain Bike routes, Bob’s 2-week journey encompassed 540 miles of pavement and gravel, and climbing 36,000’ over 10 mountain passes through sunshine, rain, and a hail storm! Come and enjoy Bob’s tales from this epic tour, which culminated in riding to over 12,000’ elevation on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.
We will also enjoy the travel log of Norm Moyer who recently led a group to the Island of Hawaii
