Stay Informed

Welcome

Welcome to BCI's Web site. The Bicycle Club of Irvine is a recreational and social cycling club for men and women of all ages and skill levels. Please come in, check out our rides and events, read about our history, becoming a member, and find out what's new at BCI.

Your Feedback Matters

The BCI Board values your input and wants your feedback. We now have a member survey that will take you just a few minutes to complete. The information will assist us in planning for the future, serving you better, and telling us how to meet the club's needs.

Your response is totally confidential as your email address will not be stored in the survey results. We have used a third party vendor and encourage your honest and direct feedback. The survey company allows only one vote per computer. And please, only one vote per member..

So please click here and help us make BCI the best club ever!

Irvine Global Village

October 2nd is the date of the 2010 Irvine Global Village Festival at Barber Park, right on the San Diego Creek Bike way. BCI Rides will stop that Saturday for our regroup among the 13,000 participants who make this the largest multi-cultural event in Orange County. As last year, the BCI will also be helping run the bicycle parking area, where several hundred bikes will be checked in and parked in a supervised corral while guests enjoy the festival. See here for general information. Volunteers are needed all day to help receive, park, fetch & watch the bikes. We had fun meeting lots of folks last year and expect more bicycles this year as the car parking is horrible! We have also extended an invitation to our Orange County Bicycle Coalition to join us providing more information at our table. Shifts start at 7am, but the majority of bikes don't arrive before 10 when the festival starts. (although smart volunteers ride their bikes in to the site rather than parking at Jamboree & Main & taking a shuttle bus over!) 4 hour shifts 7-11, 11-3 & 3-7 are available; You could do the 9am BCI ride, visit the festival, work 11-3 & finish the ride, or do the ride & come back to help out 11-3 or 11-7... Volunteers MUST REGISTER & will get a t-shirt - Sign up on line, and which shifts you will help on; 1 or all 3. See here Where it asks "Have you committed to volunteer with any group participating at the festival? If yes, please include name of group say you are helping the BCI park Bicycles or they may assign you to some other fun job! If you have questions you can contact Bill
