Guest Speaker / Program:
Our speaker for the October 25th meeting is mountain AND road bike racer Larissa Fitchett. She was a member of the US National team at world championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic won the national series overall title and finished 3rd in the US Cup series. Larissa has a passion for cycling and will share her story with us on how she got started, where she has raced, training regime, nutrition tips and other exciting inside tips on the world of bike racing. In addition we will have representatives from the Arthritis Foundation's California Coast Classic Bike Tour speaking about their ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It is a 525 mile, 8 day scenic bike ride down the coast of California along Highway 1. The Tour starts in the heart of San Francisco and ends on the iconic strand of Los Angeles. They welcome beginners to experienced cyclist to enjoy the famous wineries, lighthouses and beaches. This ride raises vital funds needed to find a cure for arthritis. Money raised provides education resources for adults and children, scholarships for the national Juvenile Arthritis Conference, kids' camps and much more. Who doesn't want to find a cure for arthritis!!
