Starbucks is at 137 Newport Coast - but the fountain where Pain du Mond WAS is still a good place to regroup. There is also good coffee available at the Whole Foods Market.

Mile 1.5: the construction on University MIGHT be finished by now… it has made the route tough - all the way back to before Campus. On this route, just after Harvard follow the BIKE DETOUR signs & merge onto the connector to the San Diego Creek Trail bike path (SLOW DOWN) to avoid all of the construction zone rather than taking the narrow lane & steel plates all the way to Jamboree where University becomes Eastbluff. You can resume at mile 3.2 of the route at the NW corner of Jamboree & Eastbluff. (Assuming construction will still be going on in September)
