Holiday Party ~ Cookie Exchange Picnic

  • Deerfield Community Park 55 Deerwood West Irvine, CA, 92604 United States (map)

We miss our annual Potluck Dinner tradition but will have another late lunch picnic at Deerfield Park. Sign up for a choice of Veggie or Turkey sandwich with chips - sodas and coffee will be offered. Free sandwich to current members - added an option for expired/guests/partners @ $10. RSVP extended to the end of Thursday, Nov 18: Order for lunches will be placed on Friday the 19th…

Members are challenged to focus their culinary skills on festive holiday cookies and treats for a cookie exchange; bring enough to enjoy and extras to share to take home!

If you bring a dozen, take a dozen home (less the ones you eat at the party)
If you want to bring a whole tin, you get to take more home.
Contact Hospitality Director Sally Salmon to help coordinate !
Park benches are hard; bring a pad or your own folding chair if you want…

We will continue our BCI tradition of having collection bins for sharing our good fortune with Working Wardrobes, The Bicycle Tree and Families Forward again this year. Clean out a closet or garage &/or write a few checks…

Working Wardrobes offers their services and outreach to help clients get back to work with interview and job skill training, as well as getting their clients set up with sharp interview and working attire. They collect working attire, but require items to be on hangers - not bagged like rags…

Families Forward assists families in Orange County who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness. Their Food Pantry continues to need our help; most needed food items are: Rice (1/2 lb and 1lb.), Pasta, Beans, Canned Fruits, Canned Soups, and small and regular sized jars of Peanut Butter. Money and $10 gift cards are also welcome. They also collect toy donations to fill holiday gift bags for families who have been ‘adopted’. Click here for a their list of new unwrapped toys given to children during the holiday season.

The Bicycle Tree is a nonprofit community bike center and shop in Santa Ana.  One of their missions is to refurbish bikes and donate them to those in need.  They collect used bicycles, bicycle parts, gently worn cycling clothes and accessories for this purpose.
