Ride Start: Deerfield Park
Beat the summer heat and experience a new side of bicycling! Join fellow club members for a Full Moon Fun Ride. This is a no-drop ride at an easy pace. Meet at Deerfield park at 6:30pm and expect to roll out about 6:45. We’ll watch the sun set as we ride the San Diego Creek and Back Bay trails to Starbuck’s on PCH. We’ll return under the full moon by the same route. Come and enjoy the unique sights, sound, and smells of the Back Bay at night.
The ride will be led by BCI club secretary Bob McHenry, an experienced commuter and tour leader. Headlights and taillights are required to participate. Eye protection with clear lenses is strongly recommended. Moon rise is at 6:39pm and sunset is at 8:02. Ride distance is 23 miles and we should return around 9:00pm.
If you want to learn more about lighting and night riding prior to the ride, plan on attending the general membership meeting on Wednesday June 12th, where Bob will give a presentation on options for bicycle lighting. Questions about this ride: bring them to the 6/12 meeting, or email to secretary@bikeirvine.org.
