In 2018, several of our members have needed medical/paramedic aid during our rides. One rider suffered a broken hip after skidding. One rider passed out at the coffee stop and another nearly did after a ride from dehydration . Another experienced a heart-attack on a ride. One plowed into yet another and they both needed medical aid. And one was hit by a car.   In several cases, fellow cyclists did not know how to properly respond to these emergencies. Do you?

In a panicked moment, can you accurately recall the proper breath-to-compression ratio for CPR? Basic first aid for bleeding ? Detecting signs and symptoms BEFORE they become a full-blown medical emergency? Knowing a few basics could save the life of your fellow club member OR your own life! Our club makes every effort to promote safety, but accidents and medical emergencies do happen. Let's be prepared. Come hear the Irvine Fire Department paramedics inform and educate us on basic aid for cyclists. 

Please spread the word to your ALL your cycling friends about this important meeting topic. Spouses are encouraged to attend! A little knowledge could help save a life.
